The Sail22 J/70 Tapered Furling Line makes furling the jib much easier. A great upgrade for every J/70, racing or not. Tapered line for the furler drum for smooth furling and then thick enough for the hands so it doesn't slip or hurt.

While the furling drum is unwound, solidly sew the tapered end on the new furling line to the outboard end of the old furling line. Reach up on the lower outside base of the furling drum and find the knot, grab hold and carefully feed the line in. At the last moment when the sewn end comes through make sure to reach up to the drum and directionally guide the last inch.
Once the sewing is cut out put a small knot in and snug back in place.
May have been over kill, but I through sewed the knot a few times with some good tough thread.
Much better on the hands.
The replacement is simple.
